SOULSA
is a Latin band that plays a unique fusion
of Afro-Caribbean rhythms and modern rock music.
Hailing from Washington Heights, a New York City neighborhood known for embracing Latin music and its culture, Soulsa fuses elements of Afro-Caribbean grooves with acoustic and electric guitars to create a fresh and exciting sound. The band is known for writing songs with inventive vocal harmonies and lyrics that reflect the daily lives, struggles and
triumphs of everyday people.
Soulsa has played a variety of venues & events in New York including City Winery NYC, Live at Plaza 33 World Music Concert Series, Nuyorican Poets Café, and Gonzalez & Gonzalez. The band received national recognition when they performed on live television for Telemundo’s “Hoy en la Mañanita” and was invited to Finland as a headlining act to perform at the 10th Annual “Frutas Tropicales” Latin Music Festival.
Soulsa’s music has been featured in the TV shows “Mind of Mencia” and The Travel Channel’s “Man vs. Food”. Two of their original songs, “Elena” and "Hoja De Papel", were featured in the independent film “Entre Nos”.
